A Facelift for a 20-Year-Old Brand

When we met Revation Systems, they were already an established company with almost 20 years of experience and expertise. Cloud-native with industry-leading security, their robust and unified platform provided the full breadth of what customer engagement should be.

However, the brand looked fairly antiquated – it hadn’t changed in years, and there was consensus that they needed a more modern feel to reflect the company’s future trajectory and their desire to expand into different markets. Moreover, a focus on partners had limited brand awareness content. Finally, product messaging was inconsistent, veering between vertical-specific and highly general.

When BT arrived, Revation was already battle-tested and had proven its ability to build customer relationships. It was paramount that these qualities be reflected in the brand with total consistency. Before, various names for the brand and the product (Revation, LinkLive, Reva, etc.) had caused some confusion among customers. With the help of ButteredToast, all of Revation’s tools and solutions were combined and consolidated into one brand, one customer engagement platform with a brand new name: LinkLive.

Fresh Messaging, Fresher Perspectives

As the new brand was established, it was time to update how LinkLive ‘talked.’ No more of the self-centered “we” messaging – LinkLive realized that what matters wasn’t what they had achieved but the vision they offered to the customers. Across the board, we shifted our messaging to the imperative mood and gave it an aspirational air, driven by the question: “What can we make real for our customers?

Seeking to go toe to toe with the messaging of Twilio, Ujet, Five9, and others, LinkLive wanted to be bold but clear, knowledgeable yet conversational, and confident yet attentive with its messaging. By uncovering those qualities, ButteredToast shaped not just the brand and the website but the content the company puts out to its audiences.

  • Conducted deep market research to determine how LinkLive can best address its customers and audience.
  • Developed a clear and simple value proposition for the solution and the company – “Connect With Trust.
  • Developed three comprehensive personas based on the decision makers and influencers of a business – the CTO/CISO, the Head/VP of Customer Service and Experience, and the Call Center Manager.
  • Developed a full content strategy around the company’s core pillars.
  • Executed strategy by performing a massive content migration to the new website, creating new SEO content such as pillar pages and SEO-driven blog posts, and refreshing old content.
  • Created email marketing campaigns that further pushed engagement to newly-released webinars, blog posts, and milestone updates.
  • Performed a full visual rebrand using a new visual identity and brand guidelines, generating a professional-looking, modern website optimized for demand capture.

Creating a Company Culture Film to Drive Recruitment

“Video is the most powerful form of content. With minimal direction, Buttered Toast were able to put together an amazing short film for us. They asked all the right questions, handled all the details, dealt with all the logistics. We just showed up and gave some fun interviews; they did the rest.”
